After losing his wife in a car accident, an unfaithful husband, his estranged son and adolescent daughter are called to action as family. Struggling with their ego they are unable to free their grief and quickly caught in routine: Which coffin feels right? Who chooses the stamps for the sympathy cards? And how does one keep up one's life-lies, now that all nerves are frayed?

With great intimacy and visual skill, Pia Strietmann portrays an ordinary family in a situation that can strike upon any of us, at any given moment. A family is ruined, and thereby granted the chance to unite. On days like these life shows its absurdest ways, setting off tears and smiles, often at the same time.
